Established commercial millwork operation serving the local BC commercial, retail and residential market is looking for an experienced Project Coordinator to provide support to project managers by taking on managerial, administrative, and operational duties for large custom architectural millwork projects.

The Project Coordinator assists the Project Manager and procurement staff in the planning, implementation, and execution of a large scale commercial millwork projects and ensures that complex projects are built on time according to required specifications.

The Project Coordinator is responsible for monitoring the schedule and project costs, for liaising with key stakeholders, for tackling technical problems as they arise and for maintaining the necessary documentation at all phases of the project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a key contact for all internal and external project stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, suppliers and other service providers.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid documents for negotiation with clients and vendors
  • Review architectural/shop drawings and utilize take-offs of millwork components to ensure on time ordering or production of all required materials, hardware and components.
  • Assist the drafting department in the preparation of detailed shop drawings
  • Monitor status of projects with to anticipate issues and minimize bottlenecks.
  • Establish and revise production schedules to reflect design changes, backlogs, or delays
  • Monitor work progress to assess compliance with project specifications
  • Document production schedules, delays, changes, and any other information pertinent to the operational flow of the project to ensure operational, financial and customer satisfaction goals are met on all projects that you're assigned to

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience of 3-5 years in a leadership role within the cabinet or millwork industry
  • Prior experience as a journeyman cabinetmaker/millworker
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated, organized, and possess strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Enthusiastic, positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety standards and preventative maintenance programs
  • Knowledge and experience in the design, estimation, procurement, and production of high-end, custom-made millwork
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or related software, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Full understanding of architectural blueprints/drawings
  • Knowledgeable in joinery methodologies/procedures used in millwork and cabinet construction
  • Capacity to schedule/run multiple projects on time and on budget
  • Ability to coordinate and work effectively in a team setting with all levels of employees and clients to achieve results
