Description
Stable, established employer making high value wood products is looking for an experienced millwright that can keep a wood products manufacturing plant running on a steady day shift.
This position focuses on the maintenance of production wood machining centres, feeders, conveyors, dust collectors, material handling equipment, waste disposal, packaging and strapping equipment, as well as some custom designed equipment for specialty production. Training can be provided on any wood machining centres you are less familiar with, but you must already have good millwright skills and some experience in a production environment with wood products.
To fully qualify for this position, you will need standard millwright skill-sets including machine repair, fabricating, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, equipment installation, troubleshooting and minor electrical fault diagnosis. Some exposure to PLC technology is preferred to ensure you can diagnose issues that can arise in an automated or semi-automated production environment.
Formal education in an apprentice program is preferred BUT equivalent skills from years of experience is also attractive. A can do attitude and a safety conscious work style are a must.
This is an organized shop that is fully equipped with all the major tools and supplies required. Working with other trained millwrights will allow you to develop your skillsets further in a positive work environment that is organize but still flexible and accommodating.
This position may be attractive to you if you are living in the Surrey or Langley area and looking for stable work hours and an easier commute. If you use public transportation the plant is centrally located in an easy to access industrial park close to regular bus lines.
This proven production operation offers a predictable and consistent work schedule with some opportunity for overtime if desired. This is a Full Time DAY SHIFT (Mon.-Fri) position.
